New Jersey Pharmaceutical and Consumer goods giant, Johnson & Johnson was ordered to pay to the family of a Missouri women, who died of ovarian cancer, 72 million dollars in damages. A St. Louis jury found responsibility against the corporate defendant and rendered a verdict for both compensatory and punitive damages.

The case against Johnson and Johnson proved that the company was aware of the health danger and risks of having talcom powder in feminine hygiene products, and that it failed to inform its consumers of this incredibly dangerous relationship to ovarian cancer.
