Gallbladder Surgery

Laparoscopic gallbladder surgery (also called cholecystectomy) removes the gallbladder and gall stones through small incisions in the abdomen enabled by the use of a small TV monitor inserted also in the abdomen by the surgeon.

As technological and advanced as this surgery is, sometimes mistakes are made by the surgeon and injury occurs to the common bile duct or even the small intestine. The failure to recognize these injuries can often lead to catastrophic results including severe infection and even death.
